The Philadelphia Cricket Club
If you ever have the chance to go to The Philadelphia Cricket Club, do it, it’s an opportunity that should not be missed! We had the pleasure of playing here this week and we had so much fun that we hope to be able to come back soon. The grounds are spectacular, with gorgeous views no matter where you turn.
The Philadelphia Cricket Club was founded in 1854 by Alumni from the University of Pennsylvania, and as the name implies, cricket was played until the 1920s. The club revived cricket in the early 1990s and it has seen steady support since then. The Philadelphia Cricket Club is the oldest country club in the nation and has 3 clubhouses; the St. Martins Clubhouse in Philadelphia, the Wissahickon Clubhouse in Flourtown, and the Militia Hill Clubhouse in Plymouth Meeting, PA. But don’t let the name fool you…The Philadelphia Cricket Club is a full-service country club offering premier facilities, programs, and more to its members across a wide variety of sports. Members can enjoy a round of golf, tennis, paddle tennis, squash, swimming, as well as other activities such as trapshooting, cricket, bridge, pickleball and more. No matter which clubhouse you decide to visit, you will be glad that you visited the gem that is The Philadelphia Cricket Club!
